There is no interview for the Office Assistant (Clerk) post – final selection is based on the Mains exam score alone.
IBPS RRB Officer Scale-I (PO) – Exam Pattern
The Prelims pattern for PO is identical to Clerk Prelims (80 marks, 45 minutes). The Mains pattern also carries the same five sections and 120-minute duration as Clerk Mains. Selection for PO involves three stages: Prelims, Mains and Interview.

- Reasoning: Puzzles, seating arrangement, syllogism, coding-decoding, blood relations, inequalities, direction sense
- Numerical/Quantitative Ability: Simplification, number series, quadratic equations, data interpretation, profit and loss, time and work

- Computer Knowledge: Basics of computers, MS Office, internet, shortcuts
- English/Hindi Language: Reading comprehension, cloze test, error spotting, para jumbles, fill in the blanks
Negative Marking
1/4th (0.25) mark is deducted for every wrong answer in both Prelims and Mains. There is no negative marking for unattempted questions.
