- HRA (House Rent Allowance): 30% of Basic Pay in X cities, 20% in Y cities and 10% in Z cities.
- Transport Allowance: fixed by pay level and city (plus DA on it) – Level 9 and above: ₹7,200 / ₹3,600; Level 3–8: ₹3,600 / ₹1,800; Level 1–2: ₹1,350 / ₹900 (higher amount for major cities).
- NPS: employees contribute 10% of Basic + DA towards pension (government adds its own share separately).
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this the exact in-hand salary?
It is a close estimate. Actual salary can differ slightly because of income tax, insurance (CGEGIS), department-specific allowances and whether you live in government accommodation.
Does it work for state government jobs?
State governments have their own pay scales and DA rates, so this calculator is meant for central government (7th CPC) jobs.
