The Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), Central Railway, Mumbai has released Notification No. RRC/CR/AA/2026 (dated 3 November 2026) for 2861 Act Apprentice slots across its Mumbai, Bhusawal, Nagpur, Solapur and Pune divisions. There is no written exam – selection is on merit of 10th and ITI marks. Online applications run from 3 November to 2 December 2026 on rrccr.com. The training period is one year for most trades, after which a certificate is awarded as per the Apprentices Act, 1961; this training does not guarantee a regular Railway job.

The 2861 slots are spread across Central Railway’s Mumbai, Bhusawal, Nagpur, Solapur and Pune divisions. Trades on offer include Fitter, Welder, Carpenter, Painter (General), Tailor, Electrician, Turner, Machinist, Instrument Mechanic, Electronics Mechanic, Mechanic Diesel, Programming & Systems Administration Assistant (COPA) and Stenographer (English/Hindi shorthand), among others. Eligibility Criteria

• Qualification: Passed 10th class with minimum 50% aggregate marks, and hold a National/Provisional Trade Certificate (NCVT/SCVT) in the notified trade. Engineering graduates and diploma holders are not eligible.
• Age limit: 15 to 24 years as on 3 November 2026 (born between 3 November 2002 and 3 November 2011 for UR candidates).
• Age relaxation: SC/ST – 5 years, OBC – 3 years, PwBD – 10 years, Ex-servicemen as per rules.
